How to Participate

First and foremost, please register!  Your e-mail address, username, and password will be protected with state-of-art internet security technology.  It will not be used for any purposes other than sending you notices of updates to this website (and you can even opt-out of that if you want).  Registered family members will receive access to all the genealogical information on the website.  Once you’ve registered, here are exciting ways to participate:

  1. Contribute Bennion family stories, photos, or other digital documents. All contributed stories will be reviewed by the Bennion Family Association Executive Committee.  We expect to approve all items of general Bennion interest, in good taste, and non-commercial.
  2. Add your living family to the family tree. You must sign up or log in first, then go to the “Family Tree”.
  3. Contribute Bennion news. See the “Forum” section of the website.
  4. Do original genealogical research on our Bennion lines. See the page “Research Opportunities” for more details.
  5. Help improve the Bennion entries on www.new.familysearch.org.  See the page “Family Tree” for a brief description, and then contact us about how to help.
  6. Donate to the Bennion Family Association. We are a registered non-profit organization and will use the funds to maintain and improve this website, and to sponsor original genealogical research as approved by the Bennion Family Association Executive Committee.  Receipts will be provided.  A $5 per family per year donation would be highly appreciated.
  7. Volunteer to serve on the Bennion Family Association Executive Committee. If you live in the Wasatch Front area of Utah, we would welcome your participation on the Executive Committee.  Contact us for the thrill of a lifetime!
  8. Add a link to your family blog. See the “Current family blogs” page under the “Connect” tab.
  9. Organize a Bennion family sub-group. We can help you with identifying and contacting sub-groups of Bennion descendants (after getting their permission for such contact).  See the “Family Organizations” page under the “Connect” tab.
  10. (Almost) all forms of participation are welcome – just let us know what floats your Bennion boat!
